Adam was a DJ in Ibiza in the noughties and has never really recovered. Now in his forties, he is still clinging to the dream, even though the closest he gets to a packed dance floor these days is a badly attended wedding in Croydon. Rather than get a proper job and accept middle age with grace, Adam has wedged himself into any role the club scene will allow, from “creative consultant” to “vibes manager,” all of which amount to handing out wristbands and pretending he still matters.
The lifestyle conveniently provides him with a rotation of much younger girlfriends, most of whom are just old enough to vaguely remember Shrek 2 coming out in cinemas. Adam insists he is a mentor figure, though the only wisdom he regularly shares is how to blag free drinks at a bar. His greatest fear is being asked what he does for a living by someone his own age.
These drawings were created in the process of creating my book 'Margarets Got Beef With Number 26' (also available here). Each one is an original and comes with a copy of their character tale and sent in an embossed envelope.
