Paige has absolutely no idea when to stop talking. Social cues bounce off her like hailstones on a trampoline. You can shift your body towards the door, glance at your watch, or start putting your coat on mid-sentence. She’ll simply pivot into another lukewarm anecdote about her walk to the Post Office or how she’s pretty sure she saw someone from The Apprentice in Aldi.
Conversations with Paige are less like dialogues and more like hostage situations with tea. People have been known to inhale dramatically, poised to make their excuses, only to be sideswiped by a fresh monologue about the emotional toll of microwave lasagne. It’s become such a problem that her friends are quietly researching whether psychologists offer group rates for social boundary retraining.
These drawings were created in the process of creating my book 'Margarets Got Beef With Number 26' (also available here). Each one is an original and comes with a copy of their character tale and sent in an embossed envelope.
