Sara - Original Ink Drawing (with character tale)

Sale Price: £25.00 Original Price: £30.00

3.5” x 2.5” (ACEO) ink on textured card

Sara has spent her entire life being mistaken for a boy. Childhood was a chorus of “tomboy” chants from the playground, but she never bothered to steer away from her non-gender-conforming wardrobe. She wore what she liked, stomped where she pleased, and gave the impression of someone who could win a fistfight with a lawnmower.

So when Sara came out as gay, her parents were not remotely surprised. What irritated her most was the fact she even had to say it out loud. To her, it was like announcing she had elbows or enjoyed oxygen. She still brings it up at family gatherings, rolling her eyes and muttering, “Honestly, how did you not know?” while buttering a crumpet with unnecessary force.

Sara has embraced her look so fully that strangers often thank her for “being brave,” which she finds baffling since all she did was put on a pair of cargo shorts and mind her own business.

These drawings were created in the process of creating my book 'Margarets Got Beef With Number 26' (also available here). Each one is an original and comes with a copy of their character tale and sent in an embossed envelope.
