Natalie - Original Ink Drawing (with character tale

Sale Price: £25.00 Original Price: £30.00

3.5” x 2.5” (ACEO) ink on textured card

Natalie is in a cult. She was born into it, so she has never known anything else. Her life has been a steady routine of prayer meetings, porridge, and pretending not to want electricity. The most exciting thing that has ever happened to her was the day someone smuggled in a copy of The Sun. She read it cover to cover, horrified yet fascinated, convinced Page 3 was either a sin or some kind of medical warning.

All she really knows is being pious and living like a peasant from the Middle Ages. Her wardrobe consists entirely of scratchy robes, she churns butter with the enthusiasm of someone trying to escape reality, and she once gasped out loud at the sight of a Pot Noodle. Somewhere deep down, Natalie suspects there is another world beyond the churned butter and scripture recitals. For now, she is still puzzling over why the newspaper spoke of something called Love Island and whether setting off on a forbidden pilgrimage to find it might be preferable to the arranged marriage awaiting her with Graham, a man whose most notable feature is a chin mole large enough to cast its own shadow.

These drawings were created in the process of creating my book 'Margarets Got Beef With Number 26' (also available here). Each one is an original and comes with a copy of their character tale and sent in an embossed envelope.
