The Serpent Stag

£32.00

A small creature for the tree, the wall, or wherever you prefer to keep your omens.

Part of a collection of one-of-a-kind hanging folk art dolls inspired by forgotten fairytales, woodland folklore and the strange little objects that might once have hung above a child’s bed.

Entirely handmade from fabric and individually painted, this little creature has a deep russet-brown body, a watchful face, pale antlers and delicate botanical markings. A winding serpent crosses his chest, while a small patch of gold stitching suggests that someone, at some point, thought him worth repairing.

Finished with a scruffy collar of fibres and a tiny brass bell, he has the appearance of something much loved, rather badly treated and possibly enchanted.
